Work and means of transport

Means of transportWork and means of transport is a TUTORIAL where you are going to be given some context where some irregular verbs are needed. You will have an opportunity to get familiar with those verbs, which are involved in explaining what people do for a living. They are used in the simple present tense.

Since these irregular verbs are not of the same kind, and fall in fact into 4 main categories, they “behave” differently when conjugated. Or, more precisely, you need to know that they follow different patterns of conjugation. Other verbs that you are learning would also fit into those patterns, and hence conjugate in a similar way. Those verb’s categories are:

  • irregular only in the first person,
  • stem-changing verbs
  • stem-changing and irregular in the first person
  • totally irregular

Vocabulary-wise, you also have a summary of the words you need when saying how you get to work, to university or to any other place, in the resources included in within this article.

You will find HERE the handout for practice, and HERE the fully conjugated irregular verbs that you need.
